Popco’s sign feet are primarily used to support signs on counters, shelf tops and end caps, but that’s not the only use for these parts. Sign feet can also be used as dividers in produce and meat coolers. This is due to our material choices. Our sign feet are available in two food-safe materials: High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) and food-grade Rigid Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). These materials are known as Food Contact Substances (FCS) and are approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.
A fine example of Popco’s sign feet used in this way is our collaboration with the Thomas Cattle Company (TCC). They needed both a sign base and a branded base-insert and we gladly provided both. Specifically, we helped TCC prepare their artwork and we sourced the preparation of their insert — screen printed on FCS styrene.
The completed project was just what TCC had hoped for and the look of our products in the meat coolers was, well, cool!
Popco’s sign feet, with inserts provided by our customers, or designed and prepared by us, can be used in produce coolers as well as meat coolers and this, we believe, makes us one of the cool kids.
